Weekly Update - January 17th

Well, with the new year in full swing we continue to develop new roasts to offer our customers.  We just began offering a new organic decaf, named SAMBROSA, from Peru.  Do you ever find yourself craving a cup of coffee in the afternoon but afraid it may keep you up past bedtime?  Here's your answer. Our organic bean from Peru is roasted to bring out a full body and a hint of smokiness. The coffee begins with subtle berry sweetness to create a well-rounded cup of coffee that you will forget is decaf! We wanted pure unadulterated decaf coffee, and the premium Swiss Water process is really the only option to maintain the bean quality we require while effectively removing the caffeine.  Want to know how the caffeine is naturally removed using the Swiss Water process?  Click the logo below to learn more:

What else is on the way?  A great Kenyan, a French Roast, a delicious 50/50 blend, and an Espresso Blend.  Stay tuned!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Weekly Update - Dec. 8th

Coffee News

We want to thank our fans for the overwhelmingly positive reviews of “UNO”, our first commercial roast, featuring Honduran beans. There seems to be a large following for light roasts, and we plan to continue offering this popular coffee for the foreseeable future. For those who enjoy a darker, bolder flavor, we want you to know that we have received a shipment of high-quality green coffee beans from Costa Rica and Ethiopia, the origin of the coffee bean. We cupped our first samples and after a little fine-tuning we were so excited with the results that we began roasting and bagging these two new offerings. Let us introduce:

DOIS

Procured from the Santa Elena Estate, located in the Tarrazu region of Costa Rica. Grown at 1250 meters, this medium roast exhibits an intriguing full, bright floral flavor with a sweet vanilla finish.  This is a cup we can drink all day.

And...

TROIS

Wow, did we hit a home run on this one.  This Ethiopian bean, grown at 1550 meters in the Sidamo region, blew us away with its intriguingly complex, full bodied, spicy flavor.  To taste is to believe, and we believe that this is one of the best roasts we have cupped in a long, long time. Serve this to your friends and they will remember it.

Keep an eye out on our website, www.morucoffee.com. We will be opening our web store soon and offer free local delivery via Ken-powered bicycle or electric-powered car (depending on the weather!) within a 10 mile radius of our roastery. The web store will also feature coffee subscriptions for monthly, bi-weekly, and weekly delivery. Order once and you won’t be lacking!

The Pursuit of Excellence

For those who purchased Uno at the CDPHE craft fair, you may have noticed that the labels on the coffee bag may decide to detach themselves from the bag. We sincerely apologize for the quality of the packaging, as this is not something that was expected or deemed acceptable. Scott spent hours working on a fix and we now have bags and labels that will play together! It’s one thing to obsess over the quality of our beans, but we also believe that every step of our production process deserves exceptional attention to detail. We strive for excellence in our product, from the time our green beans are received to the delivery at your doorstep!
